2. Can basements be built in Oklahoma? This year we'll construct our 500th basement in Oklahoma. We've been successfully building basements in Oklahoma since 1994. So the simple answer is yes.
3. Why build a full basement instead of a partial? The incremental cost of building the main floor and basement with the same dimensions is minimal compared to the additional square footage gained. This is especially true when considering basements built on a sloping terrain that will required dirt and retaining walls in the area not occupied by the basement.
4. What are the advantages of a basement? Building with a basement allows the total square footage to be spread over multiple levels while keeping the footprint of your house to a minimum. A smaller footprint means less construction costs for exterior veneers, roof, insulation, etc and allows you to enjoy a larger yard and more landscaping, especially on confined city lots.
5. Can a garage be built over the basement? Yes, we can engineer a solution for this common problem. In most situations our customers prefer the garage to be on the same level as the main floor, but the sloping grade and garage location require the construction of walls to support the elevated garage. We can fill and compact sand in this space or create a basement space under the garage floor.
